Joe was born on August 4, 1942, to Lonnie and Kathryn Dillard in Durant, Oklahoma. After Joe graduated from high school in McAdoo, Texas in 1960, he went on to Lubbock Christian College in Lubbock, Texas for 1-1/2 years. He then enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Lincoln, Nebraska for 4 years.
Protestants started the practice and made the most funeral sermons, but Catholic priests also followed the custom. Ronda worked as a nurse for over 44 years, with more than 30 of those years as an RN, BSN, and OCHN with Walls Hospital. She loved to garden and was very active in her faith, church, and community nursing. Ronda was a longtime member of College Heights Baptist Church, faithfully playing the organ there for more than 30 years.
